Murad Essential C Cleanser: I have loved this cleanser for years now and always like having a tube of it in my shower, it's a gel-based cleanser that foams lightly but never leaves my skin feeling dry or tight afterwards. It smells amazing with notes of citrus which is one of my favourite scents and as I do mainly use it in the mornings in the shower it really helps to refresh and wake my skin up.
It also contains a blend of Vitamins A, C and E as well as Panthenol and Allantoin which contain antioxidants and moisturising properties.
Ren Skincare Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic: In my never-ending quest in fighting my adult acne I am always on the hunt for a product to help with the issue, in doing my research I came across this product from Ren Skincare. I know that this product is one of their most popular and to be honest I can't believe I haven't tried it sooner, it's a chemical exfoliant that can be used where you would normally use your toner and can be used daily depending on your skin type and skin sensitivity, I have been using this product for a few weeks now and my skin is pretty tolerant to exfoliating properties so I tend to use this most days with a break in between every so often as I am always conscious about over exfoliating.
It contains one of my personal favourite skincare ingredients Lactic Acid which works as an exfoliant to dissolve away dead skin cells, Azelaic Acid helps to reduce redness and kills off acne-causing bacteria and White Willow Bark works as an anti-inflammatory and has anti-bacterial properties.
It leaves the overall texture and tone of my skin even and has helped with my breakouts, I have been having some textural irregularities around my nose and this has really helped to smooth out the texture in that area. I just apply a small amount to a cotton pad and wipe it over my face, always being careful to not use it too close to my under eye area and following up with my other skincare products once it has dried down. After using consesvutively for sometime now it has really helped to add radiance to my skin, my skin has a constant glow to it which I really love, it has also made me want to try more products from this range.
*Editors note: Whenever using any sort of exfoliating product it's important to be wearing sunscreen on a daily basis.
Kate Somerville Eradikate Blemish Mark Fading Gel: I know that I talk a lot about having breakouts but it really is one of my main skin concerns, I am sadly even dealing with it in my early thirties. The products I use tend to be targeted towards this issue and lately another issue I have been dealing with is post-inflammatory pigmentation which is the little red marks left behind from previous spots.
I always get very excited to look at the what's new section on the Mecca website and as soon as I saw this serum from one of my personal favourite skincare brands Kate Somerville launch I immediately added it to my cart.
It contains Salicylic Acid which for someone who has breakout-prone skin is a godsend as it exfoliates and cleans deep down into the pore to fight spots, Prebiotic Complex helps to balance the skins flora, Niacinamide works to even post blemish marks and AHA's gently resurface your skin to help with texture. Using this serum regularly has really helped to keep my breakouts at bay and my texture and tone even, I have only been using it for a few weeks now but I can already tell that it will be a staple in my routine and I am excited to see continued results with it.
Clinique Even Better Clinical Radical Dark Spot Corrector + Interrupter: If you have read this blog for a while now I am sure you have picked up on the fact that I am dealing with post-inflammatory pigmentation and general pigmentation issues which is why the majority of my current skincare revolves around this issue.
I have always loved the Even Better range from Clinique but surprisingly had never tried this particular serum before, sometimes some products can take time to see a noticeable difference but with this serum, I noticed a change in my skin after only a few uses.
It's done an amazing job of evening out my skin tone and has helped with my post blemish marks, of course, this is something that will take time but as I have already seen great results from this serum I will continue to use it and I am excited to see the results in the future with continued use.
*ROEMY Resort: If you know me you know that my obsession with fig fragrances is a true love affair, there's just something about the scent of fig that brings me right back to summertime as a kid, we had a fig tree in our backyard and as soon as I smell fig it instantly transports me back to that time and place.
Resort by ROEMY is truly one of the most beautiful fig scents that I have come across, whilst the fig is what shines in this scent is the creaminess of this scent that what makes it so special, it reminds me of summer in Australia and sitting on the beach, that's the thing I love most about scent is how it can instantly transport you back and instantly revive a memory.
I have been wearing this scent since I got it and whilst I am loving wearing it during the summer I can already see myself wearing it all throughout the year, especially in the wintertime when I want to be reminded of summer.
