All About The Man.

As a male myself I am always on the lookout for what's new and what's trending in the world of male grooming, I really enjoy researching the latest ingredients and products as well as the different websites that are out there. One of the latest websites I have come across is All About The Man, founded by two friends who wanted to create a space where men could go and explore different brands and products focused on them.

They stock and support Australian and New Zealand business which is always great to see, the site has a great selection of products and it's nice to have an edited selection of products all in the one place.

I have been lucky enough to ask the founders of the site a few questions, keep reading for the interview.

First of all, can you give my readers a quick overview of your website?

Sure, we would be happy to share our journey. All About The Man launched in September 2020 and is a single, uncomplicated place to discover men’s face, body, shave and beard products. We have curated our online store with products specifically made and designed for men. We are one of the unique brands in this space supporting only local, environmentally conscious Australian and New Zealand businesses. We are listening to our customers and will continue to curate our online store with other products from local Australian businesses as a complementor to every man’s lifestyle.

Where did the inspiration come from to start the site?

We are both from large male-dominant families, Lindy in particular has 7 older brothers (poor Lindy!). Our inspiration came from hearing their frustrations of finding products dedicated to men at different ages and stages of their lives, And personally being able to find the products they were looking for from a gifting perspective. We quickly understood that men’s needs can be very different and they are looking for products dedicated to them in an uncomplicated place. Enter, All About The Man.

How long have you both been interested in beauty and grooming?

For as long as we can remember. Beauty and grooming is an important part of our self-care routine overall. We thought it was time to help provide the same opportunity to the men in our lives through All About The Man.

Can you tell us a bit about your personal grooming routines?

Well, Francesca washes her face morning and night with an enbioment cleanser and uses a hydrating serum, moisturiser with a hydrating spray and SPF (in the morning!). She uses a micro peel twice a week followed by sulphur and hydration masks. Lindy washes her face morning and night with a foam cleanser/purifying mask and uses an SPF moisturiser in the morning and hydrating moisturiser at night. Lindy uses the same hydrating eye cream morning and night. She also uses a face scrub or exfoliating mask twice a week. Both simple and very effective weekly routines.

What do you think are the key essentials in a man’s grooming routine?

For us, it really depends on a man’s age and stage. At the very least, please use a face wash and face moisturiser. All About The Man is seeking to provide options and education so that men can make informed choices depending on their skin type, budget and needs.

If someone is just starting out with their skincare routine, where would you recommend they start?

By browsing All About The Man haha. In our view, it is never too late to start your skincare journey and use products appropriate for your age and stage in life. Start with one product you think you will love, maybe a face wash, and grow your range from there.

Do you have any business advice for someone wanting to start something?

Really believe in what you are doing! Stay positive, laugh as much as possible and choose your business partner wisely. :)

As Christmas is fast approaching can you tell us a bit about your gifting options?

For us, the men in our lives can be a notoriously difficult bunch to shop for. So, at All About The Man, we decided to individually curate men’s gift packs tailored to different lifestyles - the Outdoorsy Man, Man On The Go, Bearded Man, Clean Cut Man, Sporty Man, Indoor Man, High Roller Man and Man About Town. Our men’s gift packs contain three products from our face, body, shave or beard collections and have been designed to suit each man’s lifestyle.
