Sky Derma Clinic.

I was lucky enough to of met Bonnie at the coffee shop I frequent in the city and as we got talking and I told her that I am a blogger and review products and treatments she graciously invited me into the clinic where she works which is Sky Derma Clinic in Docklands.

Bonnie is really knowledgeable on all things skin and treatments and does an amazing job at looking at my skin and basically telling me what I need, I have said in the past that as a Melbournian there are a few people you can really trust, one of them being your facialist and in this scenario, I trust Bonnie more than anything to take care of my skin.

I came into the clinic with my main skin concerns being breakouts and texture irregularities, another main concern being these small white bumps that were scattered over my face which we discovered were actually Sebaceous Hyperplasia.

I have had a few treatments with Bonnie now, a milk peel and a TCA peel to combat my hyperplasia which I immediately saw results from as the peels helped to dramatically reduce their appearance and actually get rid of some of the bumps. Both treatments had been followed by an LED light treatment which I have done regularly and does wonders for my skin.

Alongside my treatments, Bonnie has also recommended some products from Dermaceutic and Biopelle which I have loved and will give a quick run-through below.

Biopelle Tensage Antioxidant Defense Serum: Essentially this is an antioxidant serum that uses Vitamin C which is a well-known brightening ingredient, Ferulic Acid and Growth Factors which all work together to protect your skin against environmental stresses. I feel like when I use this serum it really does form a barrier for daily stresses and it sits well with my other products.

Dermaceutic Actibiome Acne-Prone Skin Night Cream: A moisturiser that exfoliates your skin overnight helping with breakouts and skin texture, it uses a blend of Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid to gently dissolve away dead skin cells and does wonders at smoothing out my skin texture and keeping my breakouts at bay. I have to be careful with moisturisers as they can sometimes clog my skin but that isn't the case with this one, it works very well for my skin.

Dermaceutic Dual+ Anti Blemish Serum: I love this serum because, for my skin that is used to using active products, it feels more gentle on my skin as sometimes I find when products are targeted to breakouts they can be quite harsh but I don't find that with this serum at all. Another thing I love is that whilst it does target breakouts it also uses ingredients that help to fade the pigmentation left behind from spots which is something that I struggle with so knowing that this serum does both is why it remains a favourite in my routine.

Dermaceutic K Ceutic Post Treatment Cream: This is a great product to use on a daily basis but especially after any sort of skin treatment, it also has a slight yellow tint to it which is good at covering redness and does slightly even out your skin tone with the tint.

These products are all sold at Sky Derma Clinic and I would highly recommend looking into them.

Sky Derma Clinic is located at 7/439 Docklands Dr, Docklands VIC 3008 and their website is www.skyderma.com.au.

My Experience: Osmosis Infusion At Claire Francoise.

No doubt regular readers of my site will know my love for the team at Claire Francoise in Prahran, they always take good care of my skin and are always letting me know about exciting treatments and products. I recently popped by to trial the Osmosis Infusion and the lovely Pam has answered some questions about the treatment she performed on the day.

Can you give my readers a quick overview of the treatment?

This revolutionary organic, non-chemical infusion starts off with a Double Cleanse, Fruit Enzyme and Exfoliation, the infusion is then massaged into the skin or infused with Revita Pen. We then finish with a mask chosen by the therapist for appropriate skin type & concern.

It delivers long-term skin benefits, using the most potent forms of Vitamin A to gently resurface the skin with its potent liposomal delivery of calming, antibacterial, lightening and dermal remodeling ingredients. This unique formulation increases circulation, boosts immunity and stimulates collagen production. The infusion doesn't contain alpha/beta hydroxy acids (AHA's) or irritants, so it's completely safe for all skin conditions.

Who is the treatment best suited to?

All skin types & those who are wanting a treatment that targets multiple skin concerns.

Is there anything a client should change in their routine before treatment  (i.e: sun exposure, skincare routine)?

Yes, utilising Vitamin A to prep the skin is ideal to prevent light flakiness/dry patches for the first time.

Is there any down time?

Not really other than a little flakiness that can happen on day 2-3 (however doesn’t happen often).

How soon will you see results?

The next day, more so over the coming weeks.

What do you recommend for home care directly after treatment?

A simple, yet effective plan tailor to your skin utilising the Osmosis MD Skincare brand will enhance and maintaining the results much further at home.

How many treatments would you recommend having?

A course of three to six depending on the skins condition and concerns then every 6 weeks to maintain results.

Are there a few skincare products from Osmosis you would recommend using to help maintain results at home?

I would highly recommend Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum, Catalyst AC 11 DNA Repair Serum, and Clear Plus+ Activating Hydration Mist. These will strengthen, deeply hydrate on a cellular level, brighten and boosts the skins immunity and health.

Directly after the treatment there was a definite glow to my skin and as the days continued the texture and tone of my skin looked more even, I think this treatment in particular would be good if you have a special event coming up or for overall skin maintenance.

My Experience: Total Face Group.

For as long as I have had a skincare routine I have always believed in the power of facials and in clinic treatments, I am super diligent with my at home skincare routine but find that having regular facials can really help my skin to be at it's best.

I recently went into Total Face Group who now have a beautiful new clinic on Exhibition Street in Melbourne's CBD, for a treatment. I went in not knowing exactly what treatment I would be getting on the day but I had a chat with Jess and she did a thorough skin consultation and we spoke about my current skin concerns.

I told Jess that I had issues with the texture of my skin as well as congestion, my skin was also dehydrated from a lot of traveling I had been doing.

With this information she chose to offer me the Microdermabrasion and Hydrabrasion treatments.

I am a bit of a guinea pig when to comes to treatments and was really happy to have both the treatments done on the day, both treatments really helped to give my skin a deep clean and helped with the texture and tone of my skin.

I had a chat to Jess about skincare and she recommended that I included the Even Skintone Serum from Ultraceuticals into my routine as it will help with breakouts and the texture of my skin, I had used the serum before and have had great results from using it. It was my first time using the concentrate and found it to be really good at keeping my breakouts and texture issues at bay.

She also recommended the Ultra MD Ultimate A2 Anti-Ageing Serum which I only use at night and have found it to be good at keeping my pigmentation at bay and the texture of my skin even.

Along with those products she recommended the Ultra MD Ultimate Brightening Foaming Cleanser and the Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 Mattifying, I have used both of these products before and really enjoy having them in my routine.

After my treatment I continued to see results, especially when combined with the recommended home care products.

Overall I really enjoyed the treatment and will definitely go back for another round of treatments.

Shine Skin and Body.

I have had a lot of facials in my time that include anything from lasers to peels to everything in between, a lot of those facials included extractions. I am personally someone who believes in getting regular facials and extractions as I know that they work really well for my skin.

My skin type is oily combination and is prone to breakouts, texture irregularities and blackheads. Having regular facials with extractions has really helped to keep my skin clear and in tip-top shape.

I recently went into Shine Skin and Body in Richmond for one of their Extraction Facials which the clinic is well known for, It was so great to see that the clinic really focuses on Extractions as I know how beneficial they are for my skin.

My facial began with Sheridan giving me a thorough skin consultation and she really took the time out to walk through my current skincare routine and chat about any skin issues that I had at the time of my treatment.

The treatment starts off with a double cleanse followed by an exfoliator and then the extraction process begins, Sheridan made me feel really comfortable throughout the treatment and I can definitely say that she is a pro when it comes to extractions.

The treatment also includes a neck and shoulder massage and a mask which finished off the treatment beautifully.

Overall I felt really relaxed during my treatment whilst at the same time knowing that the treatment was really benefiting my skin, I had an instant glow after the treatment and the results lasted in the coming weeks.

The treatment gave my skin a really thorough cleanse and really helped to even out the texture and control any breakouts that I had going on at the time.

I would highly recommend visiting the team at Shine Skin and Body as they are all super professional and knowledgable and genuinely care about the health of their clients skin.

Ella Bache #IWillBeMe Campaign.

If there is one thing that I have learnt from working in the beauty industry for ten plus years now is to  always trust the professionals, especially when it comes to your skin. The #IWillBeMe Campaign by Ella Bache wants to empower women by making them feel confident in their own skin, they are encouraging people to go into one of their clinics and book in for a complimentary Skin Diagnosis followed by a 45 Minute SkinFit facial treatment.

Alongside the diagnosis and treatment you will also receive a Skin Fit Pack which contains two travel sized products that have been tailored to your skin type.

I am a big fan of getting my skin properly diagnosed as I have learnt a lot about my skin from having it done, I would highly recommend having a skin diagnosis to anyone especially those who are just starting out in their skincare routines as it is crucial to know what kind of skin you have and what it needs.

I have learnt a lot about skincare and my own skin over the years and believe I have finally found what works for me, I being the beauty junkie that I am like to use various products on a daily basis but am also a believer in keeping it simple and sticking to a solid routine.

*The #IWillBeMeCampaign officially ends at the end of September but clients can still go into an Ella Bache salon for a complimentary skin diagnosis to find the best products for your skin.

The Interviews: Q&A With Anu From Ozmedica On The DermaSweep Treatment.

(*This post was created in collaboration with Ozmedica.)

A couple of weeks ago I visited the Ozmedica clinic in Malvern to have a DermaSweep treatment, my clinician was Anu who specializes in Skin, Waxing and Lymphatic Massage at the clinic. Anu ran me through the treatment and took the time to look at my skin and chat to me about my skin concerns, based on this she performed the DermaSweep treatment along with Lymphatic Massage and an Infusion targeted for my skin concerns.

I felt really comfortable chatting to Anu about my skin concerns and could tell that she was someone who really cared about skin and her clients getting great results from the treatments she performs.

I got the chance to interview Anu and ask her some questions about the treatment I had on the day, here are her responses.

Overview of the treatment?

Simon’s treatment involved a combination of Dermasweep microdermabrasion and lymphatic massage. The Dermasweep facial treatment combines microdermabrasion exfoliation with the application of skin specific infusions that result in fresher and healthier skin. The vacuum wand stimulates blood flow, lymph flow and deep cleanses the skin. It encourages collagen formation and subsequently firms and tone the epidermis skin. The lymphatic massage is an add on service that helps stimulate blood flow and relieves tension in the face and head that are caused by daily stresses, colds and/or sleeplessness.

Who would best suit the treatment?

The treatment would suit almost anyone because we are all exposed daily to numerous environmental conditions which can affect the moisture balance in our skin. The treatment is particularly important for anyone who experiences the following:

Pigmentation

Fine lines

Laxity

Oily skin

Acne

Hormonal skin conditions

Darkness under the eyes

Anti-ageing

Are there any requirements before the treatment?

The only requirements we request from customers is to ensure they have not been sun burnt in the last 7-14 days and for males to ensure they shave before coming into the clinic.

Is there any down time?

There is no down time, however we do advise to avoid direct sunlight for a few days. Always use SPF to protect the skin and maintain the healthiness of the skin after the treatment.

How long until I see the results?

Results are seen immediately and you will notice the skin looking brighter, refreshed and smooth.

How many treatments would you recommend having to maintain results?

The skin will look refreshed and clear after just one treatment; however we recommend treatment every four weeks to get the best results. If the treatment is for a special occasion, we recommend having the treatment a fortnight beforehand.

Home care products after treatment?

Follow your normal skin routine, keep hydrating and always apply SPF.

Can makeup be applied straight after the treatment?

Makeup can be used straight after the treatment as desired.

In regards to home care is there anything I should not be putting on my skin straight after the treatment?

Avoid using AHA products, Retin-A, Scrubs, facial wax or any other exfoliating products or treatments for 4-7 days.

What other treatments do Ozmedica offer?

Facials

Dermapod

Chemical peels

Cosmetic Injections

Sculpture (body sculpting and fat reduction)

Waxing

Highlight treatment Winter facial

Hyla 3D HA activating complex facial is a hydrating facial where hyaluronic acid is used to restore the volume to the skin and provide deep, long lasting hydration. Advanced peptides and anti-oxidants are applied to boost the skins benefits. The main benefits of this facial is to reduce fines lines and wrinkles resulting in a more youthful contoured look.

I have recently done a lot of traveling and long haul flights, I noticed my skin was definitely in need of some extra hydration and a good thorough cleanse, The treatment I had on the day gave my skin a really good clean and I could definitely notice it was more hydrated and had an overall glow to it.

I saw results instantly after my treatment and also continued to see results days after, the results kept on getting better. I am someone who suffers from texture irregularities, milia, and blackheads and I can 100% say that the treatment helped with those concerns. My skin can become quite congested and the DermaSweep treatment really helped give my skin the cleanse it needed, even a couple of weeks after the treatment my skin feels clearer and a lot smoother.

MY EXPRIENCE: RESULTS LASER CLINIC.

A couple or months or so ago I got the opportunity to visit the team at Results Laser Clinic at Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne, My therapist's name is Nastassia and she really took the time out to talk to me and discuss my skin concerns.

As a beauty writer I'm constantly trialling new products and treatments which is definitely a bonus of the job but there are the occasions where my skin can break out or become a tad more sensitive, on the day I was looking for a treatment that would help with breakouts and just maintain general skin health.

I got the chance to ask Nastassia about my treatment on the day, here is her response:

THE INTERVIEWS: DERMATOLOGIST DR JOHN SULLIVAN ON THE KLERESCA® ACNE TREATMENT.

From working in the beauty industry for over ten years now I have spoken to a multitude of people who suffer from acne and breakouts, Im personally someone who suffered from acne growing up in my teenage years and even now in my adult years I still get the occasional breakout so I can understand how it can effect your confidence, self esteem and life in general.

As a beauty writer I'm constantly exposed to products and treatments but every once in a while I get completely blown away by something and this is one of those cases.

A few weeks or so ago I was invited to attend an event that showcased the Kleresca® Acne Treatment, at the event they had someone come in who had the treatment over a period of time and showed us before and after images and I was truly amazed by the results of the treatment.

I know first hand how acne and breakouts can effect your life so anything that can help the process is a bonus in my books!

I got the chance to interview leading Dermatologist Dr John Sullivan about the innovative new treatment, here is the Q&A:
