I tried this body oil for the first time and immediately liked it, surprisingly it didn’t feel too oily on the skin, rather it felt more like a serum as it felt so velvetly once applied and absorbed beautifully without leaving a greasy film behind. It uses a blend of peptides alongside vitamins that help to nourish the skin, moisturize the skin and helps with anything from fine lines and sun damage. I pay special attention to drier areas like elbows and around my neck to help with lines and any redness.
Mukti Age Defiance Body Serum:
Mukti have some really beautiful body care products in their range and this serum is no exception, it truly does feel like an extension of your face skincare for your body, it feels lovely on the skin and has the most lovely and refreshing citrus scent that isn’t overpowering but still makes it feel luxurious.
It contains antioxidants and probiotics to protect the skin and helps with anything from texture irregularities and sun damage, it brightens the skin over time and offers a nice hit of moisture to keep your skin hydrated and plump. I love the way this serum absorbs into the skin and the versatility of being able to use it on it’s own or underneath an oil or cream, during the day I prefer a lighter texture body product and this one suits my skin very well.
Nécessaire The Body Wash Multi-Enzyme in Olibanum:
I know that when it comes to body wash and cleansers that they are the products that are on your skin for the least amount of time but I do still think that they are a very important part of your routine, finding one that is right for your skin type and doesn’t leave it feeling dry or tight afterwards is essential in setting a good routine up, whether that be for your face or for your body.
One of my personal favourite body washes are from Nécessaire, not only for their beautiful fragrances but when I use them I know that they are chock full of skincare actives that are treating my skin whilst they cleanse, there’s also something about them that feels really luxurious, they have a slight lather but it’s a lather that isn’t drying and my skin never feels stripped when I use them, if anything my skin feels more nourished than before I used them.
This particular one from the brand is their Multi-Enzyme products which contains Vitamin C to brighten the skin and Enzymes that lightly exfoliate, I use Vitamin C in my regular skincare routine for my face so I also like knowing that I am getting that same effect for my body.
LUI Body Polish:
Exfoliating is my favourite part of my routine, and in my opinion an essential step in any routine, exfoliating regularly helps to clear away any dull dead skin cells that can clog the skin and also helps to smooth and brighten the skin, exfoliating regularly will also help the other products you use absorb better which in turn helps them to work more efficently.
One of my favourite body polishes is this one from LUI, I like it because it contains a blend of physical and chemical exfoliation, the physical comes from finely milled volcanic pumice and the chemical comes from salicylic acid meaning that you can physically buff the skin and also leave it on for a few minutes to let the chemical exfoliant work its magic. This is especially good to use prior to shaving [the brand is well known for their razors and shaving cream] and before fake tan to prep the skin and especially good for removing any unwanted tan.
This polish has the brands signature scent which I am obsessed with, it contains notes of Iris, Vetiver, Orange Blossom, Lilac, Water Lily and Tangerine Blossom which lingers on the skin lightly and never clashes with my fragrance. I love the fragrance of their products so much that I want it in any form possible, their body cream also sits beautifully on the skin after it has been exfoliated with this product.
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Body Cream:
I am a fan of the brands magic cream and knew that I would most likely like the body cream in the same range but I didn’t realize how much I would really like it, it truly feels like a treat whenever I use it, it feels so luxurious on the skin, immediately moisturizing and it almost blurs the skin to make it look more even which is a nice touch in a body cream. I use it all over but as it is so nourishing I pay attention to any areas of concern like elbows and around my neck to keep those areas that are normally drier an extra hit of moisture.
Whilst being very luxurious to use it also contains a whole host of skincare properties that help to firm and tighten the skin, caffeine brightens and energizes the skin, soybean extract moisturizes, rose extracts even skin tone and the brands magic 8 matrix contains a whole mixture of ingredients like camellia oil, vitamin c and shea butter to protect, brighten and deeply moisturize the skin.
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne:
This fragrance has been a favourite for not only me but also my mum for many years now, it’s so refreshing and uplifting and always makes me feel good when I wear it. It shines in the Spring and Summer months but is also great in the cooler months as it not only reminds me of Summer but it also uplifts me in the depths of Melbourne winter. This fragrance contains notes of Lime, Basil, Mandarin and Amber-wood.
Diptyque Philosykos Eau De Toilette:
If you know me personally or have followed me for a long time you will know my underlying love for this fragrance, it has been a mainstay in my fragrance wardrobe for many many years now as it’s such a great all rounder and a scent I can wear without even thinking about it. I love Fig fragrances and in this scent the Fig really shines, it smells like you are sitting underneath a Fig tree in the Mediterranean sun without the plane fare. This fragrance contains notes of Fig, coriander, pepper, blackcurrant, coconut, cedar and benzoin.
Acqua Di Parma Bergamotto Di Calabria:
I am a huge fan of Bergamot in fragrances, I somehow feels like it connects me to my Italian heritage and as I am also a lover of citrus scents, Bergamot always smells so fresh and zingy to me. Acqua Di Parma holds a big spot in my fragrance collection as it’s an Italian brand with Italian heritage and as I am half Italian I like having it around me. This is one of my favourite scents from them, it’s so fresh and light and perfect for Summer, even on those rare Melbourne days when the weather gets into the late 30’s I always feel fresh when I wear this scent. This fragrance contains notes of Bergamot, Red Ginger, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Benzoin and Musk.
Maison Louis Marie No.13 Nouvelle Vague Perfume Oil:
I have just started getting into perfume oils, I like how portable they are and how they feel on the skin, they tend to sit closer to the skin meaning the scent can combine with your own body heat and chemistry making them more special in my eyes. When I smell this scent I immediately think of Summers as a kid being at the beach wearing coconut scented sunscreen, one of the main notes in this scent is Fig but the coconut and lemon are the ones that also stand out to me, it feels like a neutral scent that works all year round. This fragrance contains notes of Muguet, Coconut Waters, Lemon, Tuscan Fig, Tonka, Agave, Vetiver, Amber and Santal.
Santa Maria Novella Acqua Di Sicilia:
I know I keep going on and on about my Italian heritage but is something that is really important to me and as fragrance can instantly make you relive memories, having a fragrance like this one from Santa Maria Novella that is dedicated to the town where my family is from is really special to me. It has all the notes that I love, it’s citrusy, it’s spicy, it’s complex and it’s one that I wear but also like having nearby so I can smell it often as it reminds me of my Sicilian heritage. This fragrance contains notes of Calabrian Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Neroli, Yellow Mandarin, Petitgrain, Rosemary, Sumatra Benzoin, Labdanum and Musk.
