If your anyone like me and wear makeup on a daily basis you will know the importance of prepping the skin before makeup application, when you prep your skin properly before makeup application it will make a smooth canvas for the makeup to be applied too and will also help it to last longer throughout the day, here are my top tips:

Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse:
Before you do anything to your skin it's important that it's cleansed properly, cleansing the skin will help remove any oil, dirt and impurities that have been left on the skin and will allow the products that you use afterwards (i.e: serums, moisturisers, primer etc) adhere and absorb into the skin more effeciently.

Product Recommendation: Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Hydrating Milk Cleanser.

This cleanser contains one Cleopatra's favourite beauty ingredients Donkey Milk as well as Vitamins and Essential Fatty Acids (Omegas 3 and 6) which all work to gently cleanse and clam the skin preparing it for products that follow.

Serum Is Key:
A serum is normally thinner in consistency to a moisturiser meaning it absorbs quicker and more deep down into the skin, using a glow inducing serum will help hydrate and nourish the skin leaving the skin perfectly prepped for makeup application.

Product Recommendation: Napoleon Perdis Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum.

I love using this serum before my primer as it really helps to smooth and brighten my skin, it contains a blend of Tri-Peptides and Sugar Molecules which make skin brighter and more supple.

Not To Prime Is A Crime!:
Priming the skin creates a smooth base for makeup products to go onto, it also helps to form a barrier between your skin and the makeup. Using a primer is essential to help nourish the skin but also will help with the longevity of your makeup.

Product Recommendation: Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre Foundation Skin Primer.

I have been using this primer for years, it contains ingredients like Vitamin E, Chamomile and Yarrow Extract which hydrate, calm and make a great base for makeup application.

It's also good to use a primer for a specific skin concern, for example I get quite red in my t-zone so I like to use one with a green base that helps to counteract any redness on my skin.
Product Recommendation: Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Calming Skin Primer.

This primer has a green base which blends into the skin instantly and helps to cover redness, it contains ingredients like Algae Extract, Sorbitol, Humectant Erythritol and Vitamin E which all calm and hydrate the skin.
